All updates are seen in real time with options available in the Mold-Tech material properties to change color, roughness, scale and depth of the grain. As with all the materials, colors and other textures inside KeyShot, Mold-Tech textures are applied as part of a new Mold-Tech material via the KeyShot Library with a simple drag-and-drop of the texture onto the object. ![]() After all, if you enable such a translation to a competitor's software, you run the risk of losing customers.Luxion, in partnership with Mold-Tech, a Standex Engraving Group company that specializes in texturizing and engraving in the automotive, plastics and consumer product industries, announced an exclusive partnership that brings Mold-Tech textures to KeyShot.įirst available within KeyShot 4, Mold-Tech textures deliver realism and accuracy for a variety of textured appearances. ![]() But this is the world of closed-source software, it would be up to the generosity of Chaos Group to make such a translation possible (or possibly, legal). If you have problems adding textures to your materials in general I suggest you check out some of the training videos on the Keyshot website, or youtube. I'm fully on board with the idea of how nice it would be to use those downloaded models in Keyshot. Its just a matter of going into the material editor, selecting the diffuse/bump textures that belongs to the model and setting the mapping type to UV. ![]() You are right its not Keyshot's responsibility but would you not try to make using your software as easy as possible ? ![]() Well the fact that a lot of the models out there on platforms like 3DSKY and turbosquid are made for 3ds max with Vray materials it would be really handy if there was an easy automated way to convert the vray materials to standard materials so its even more easy to use this models with Keyshot.
